Synopsys buys emulation platform supplier EVE

After having acquired Magma Design Automation, Ciranova and SpringSoft, Synopsys has acquired EVE, a supplier of emulation platforms for SoC verification. The terms or the size of the deal has not been disclosed. Emulation is a new technology which is used to verify complex systems on chips (SoCs).

After the National Telecom Policy, 2012 and the Information and Communications Technology Policy, the government will soon unveil a national policy on electronics which envisages, among other things, creating 28 million jobs in the country, Telecom Minister Kapil Sibal said today. Addressing the Economic Editors' Conference, Mr Sibal said, "All the elements of the electronics system design manufacturing policy are complete and it will be placed before the Cabinet in the next two weeks."
