Session Plan & Presentations

Day I: Monday, Feb 3, 2014

Theme: From Consumption to Creation
Abstract: India is poised to be a USD 400 billion market in the coming decade. Few other economies in the world look as promising as India does today. As the world talks about the Indian Consumer consumption story, what is glaringly absent from the story is the Indian Product Manufacturer immediately evident is the absence of an Indian Product Story.

Vision Summit 2014 takes a close look at the India Story: From Consumption to Creation.

We have the rapidly growing domestic demand; naturally supply must follow. The question really is whether this supply will continue to come in the form of exports imports, or will the Indian ESDM sector step up to meet the urgent need to become self-sufficient?

Topic: Growing a fabless economy in India  - Challenges, pitfalls &

Abstract : To capture the full value of the ESDM value- chain, semiconductors represents a very significant opportunity. And typifying this is the establishment and growth of the fabless semiconductor product industry from India. Fabless companies hold IP assets in the form of innovative chips which solve specific technology problems with patent-protected solutions.

However, fabless companies need larg amounts of capital, as well as innovatively designed support and mentoring support, to take on formidable international competition.

This session looks at the challenges that India faces in growing a fabless semiconductor ecosystem in India, and also looks at leveraging global examples as role models that India can learn from.
