Richard Hyde

British Deputy High Commissioner, Bangalore
Richard Hyde is a career Diplomat and joined the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in March 1989. Richard has had a number of diplomatic postings, including:
  • 1992-94 Assistant to the Governor of Bermuda
  • 1995-98 Vice Consul, British Embassy Paris
  • 1998 Football Attaché, World Cup France 98
  • 1998-01 Africa Department, Foreign and Commonwealth Office
  • 2000 Seconded to the Prime Minister’s Africa Task Force
  • 2001-04 Consul (Commercial) British Consulate General, Jeddah
  • 2004-07 Deputy Head of Mission, British Embassy Yerevan, Armenia
  • Richard was appointed as head of the British Trade Office in Bangalore in July 2007.
 Following the upgrade of this office to a Deputy High Commission Richard was appointed as the first British Deputy High Commissioner to Bangalore in March 2009.

Richard is accompanied in Bangalore by his wife Jacqueline and two daughters.
