Director, Aravind Managed Eye Care Services (AMECS)
Dr.Aravind Srinivasan graduated in medicine from PSG Institute of Medical Sciences, Coimbatore, South India in 1992 and completed his residency in ophthalmology leading to Masters in Ophthalmology from Aravind Eye Institute and Postgraduate Institute of Ophthalmology, Madurai, South India in 1996.

Having worked in the medical field, he had a passion for management. As a result he did his MBA with specialization in Finance from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA in the year 2000. After his MBA, he took over as the Administrator of Aravind Eye Care System and was instrumental in bringing changes to the various facets of the organization. Apart from administrating the institution in all respects, his field of interest includes performing phaco surgeries and taking care of the outpatients. He also involved in teaching in eye health management courses leading to capacity building, training, research activities and research administrator. He has presented in numerous International Conferences about the “Aravind Model” of high volume, high quality, cost effective eye care. He is also a visiting Professor of IIM and ISB and Mentor for the MBA students of Wharton School of Business, University of Michigan. His ambition is to have hundreds of such hospitals in India to clear the backlog and to eradicate needless blindness in the country.

Dr.Aravind Srinivasan is also the Director of AMECS (Aravind Managed Eye Care Services), which serves as a strategic direction to address the basic issues of providing eye care in the underserved regions. In partnership with MP Birla group, Uttar Pradesh-Rajiv Gandhi Charitable Trust, Gujarat- Sun Pharma Group and Rajasthan-Narotam Sekhsaria Foundation, Aravind Eye Care System currently are running four eye hospitals in places like Kolkatta (WB), Amethi (UP), Amreli (Gujarat) and Lucknow (UP).

Dr.Aravind Srinivasan is the Vice Chairman of the Madurai Zone of CII.
