A Doctorate degree in Management from AMU, Aligarh. Dr. Sandeep Garg is Mechanical Engineer from G. B. Pant University at Pantnagar in the year 1988. He is a Post-Graduate in Business Management from XLRI, Jamshedpur and majored in Finance and Marketing. Dr. Garg is also a fellow of Institution of Engineers and also a Fellow of Institution of Lighting Engineers.
Dr Garg has been instrumental in Standardization activity in the country, especially in setting up the National Labeling Program for Appliances (Star Labeling) of appliances as well as Industrial Efficiency benchmarking (PAT- Perform Achieve and Trade). He is also credited with the National Standard for LEDs in BIS and was actively engaged in the Standardization activities of the LED modules and products and also the convener of the Smart City Standardization Committee. He has contributed for setting up over 43 National Standards and has been a part of Various National Committees.
Dr. Garg has over 28 years of Industry Experience and has been working in the area of Policy formation and Implementation. He has worked in the area of advocacy and has worked in with the Industry to formulate effective policies. His varied experience across government, public and private sector and covering issues related to polices, financing, and program implementation has earned him many rewards. His work was also recognized at the national level and was awarded “NDTV Green Award in 2010”.
Dr Garg contributed to the development of the implementation of the National Mission on Enhanced Energy Efficiency and PAT (Perform Achieve and Trade Scheme), one of the mission under the Prime- Minister Mission on Climate Change for improving Energy efficiency in Indian Industry. In addition he has contributed to the Integrated Energy policy of GOI as well as on public procurement policies. “Greening IT” was one such initiative.
Dr Garg has contributed to the labeling program for 14 products under National Energy labeling program and has published over 72 papers and has travelled globally to represent India in various issues on Climate Change, mitigation and Adaptation. Dr. Garg has pioneered in setting new standards in the area of Energy Efficiency across various domains, which have set new benchmarks in these industries.
